Day 1

Arrive in Cairo where you will be met by your Egypt Tours tour manager who will transfer you to the Cairo Marriott Hotel.

Maidum Pyramid Egypt

Day 2

Meet with your Egypt Tours tour guide. Drive to visit the Pyramid of Maidum, originally a seven-stepped pyramid that was later enlarged to an eight-stepped pyramid. The steps were filled in and a smooth outer facing turned it into a true pyramid. This massive structure is surrounded by the debris from the casing that collapsed. The Maidum Pyramid is thought to have been started by Huni, the last ruler of the 3rd Dynasty, and completed by his son Sneferu. Sneferu was the first 4th Dynasty Pharaoh (2613 - 2494 BC). A little north from the Maidum Pyramid, you will find the remains of the Seila Step Pyramid, which is built of limestone and is thought to be from the 2nd Dynasty. In the afternoon, drive to Dhashur and visit the Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid. Sneferu is thought to have been the constructor of these pyramids, as well to have built the Pyramid of Maidum. His son Cheops also continued to construct the pyramids. After your visit, transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3

You will be met by our Egypt Tours tour manager who will transfer you to your cruise ship in Cairo for check-in, your home for the next 14 nights. Drive to Memphis on the edge of the western desert, the capital of the ancient kingdom, one of the most important cities throughout the history of ancient Egypt. Continue to Sakkara, the vast necropolis of ancient Memphis. In the afternoon, drive to the Pyramids of Giza. Cheop's Pyramid, and the largest of the three, Giza was built in the 4th Dynasty (about 2690 BC) and is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. In front of the Pyramid of Chephren, you will find the Sphinx carved from a single piece of stone. The Sphinx is a lion with a pharaoh's head that is thought to be a portrait of the Pharaoh Chephren. Return to your cruise ship for an overnight stay.

Day 4

Start your tour by visiting the Egyptian Museum famous for its antiquities from Egypt's Pharaonic period, dating back some 50 centuries and including the fabulous treasures of King Tut-Ankh-Amon. In the afternoon, an excursion to Old Cairo, visiting the very old Coptic Churches, and the oldest Jewish Synagogue of Beni Ezra. Continue your tour to visit the Mohammed Ali Mosque, the Citadel of Salah-el-Din, and the medieval bazaars of Khan-el-Khalili where you can bargain for your jewelry and hand-tooled leather items. Return to your cruise ship for an overnight stay.

Day 5

Sail to Beni Mazar. Continue to Beni Hasan. Overnight on-board your cruise ship.

Day 6

Visit the Tombs of Beni Hasan, the most important necropolis between Asyut and Memphis. There are about 39 tombs dating back to the 11th and 12th Dynasty. Sail from Beni Hasan to Tel-el-Amarna. Enjoy lunch and dinner onboard your cruise ship before your overnight stay.

Day 7

Visit the Ay's Tomb, considered to be the finest tomb remaining in the necropolis. The drawings show Ay and his wife receiving gold collars from Akhenaten and Nefertiti. From there visit Huya's or Yuyu Tomb, who was the steward of Queen Tiyi, the Queen Mother and wife of Amenhotep III. A royal banquet is located to the left and right of the main hall. Then visit Meri-Re II who was the superintendent of the Palace of Queen Nefertiti and Meri-Re I who was a high-rank Priest of Aton. Continue our tour by visiting Panhesy, the Chief Servitor of the Aton in Akhenaten. Enjoy lunch and dinner onboard your cruise ship. Sail to Asyut.

Day 10

Sail to Qena and Dendara. Arrive at Dendara and visit the Temple of Dendara built in the first century BC for the Goddess Hathor, of Beauty, Love, and Joy. It has a unique zodiac painting on its ceiling. Continue to Abidos and visit the Temple of Abidos, a Greco-Roman temple that lies about 40 miles north of Luxor. The temple was first created by Ptolemy III but developed numerous additions by subsequent Roman Ptolemaic rulers. It houses a famous painting of Queen Cleopatra, and Caesarion, her son with Julius Caesar. The temple is renowned for its horoscope inscriptions. Sail to Luxor. Overnight on-board your cruise ship.

Day 11

Cross to the West Bank, visit the necropolis of Thebes, Valley of the Kings, and Valley of the Queens including Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari, the Valley of the Nobles, and Colossi of Memnon. Sail to Aswan. Overnight on-board your cruise ship.

Day 12

Arrive in Aswan, you will be met and transported to Aswan Airport for your flight to Abu-Simbel. Upon arrival at Abu-Simbel Airport, you will be transferred to visit the Great Temple, with its four colossal seated statues of the King in front of the entrance, it was dedicated to Amun-Ra, the Horakkhti, and Ramses II. Continue your tour to visit the Queen’s temple which was threatened by the waters upon completion of the Aswan High Dam. It has since been preserved by International Action organized by "Unesco." All of the parts of the temple (statues, inscribed slabs, etc) have been cut, moved, and rebuilt on a plateau above the former site. Return to Abu-Simbel Airport for your flight back to Aswan, upon arrival at Aswan Airport, you will be met and transferred back to your cruise ship. Overnight on-board your cruise ship.

Day 13

Visit the Botanical Gardens and the Agha Khan Mausoleum by felucca. Continue your tour to the Temple of Philae, the High Dam, the Granite Quarries and the Unfinished Obelisk. Overnight onboard your cruise ship. Sail to Edfu.

Day 14

Visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu. Sail to Kom-Ombo, visit the temple shared by the two gods Sobek and Harories. Overnight on-board your cruise ship.

Day 15

Sail from Luxor via Esna, visit the magnificent Tomb of Nefertari that houses the sons of King Ramses II. Spend a leisure day in Luxor. Stay overnight on-board your cruise ship.

Temple of Karnak Egypt

Day 16

Visit the Temple of Karnak and the Temple of Luxor. Disembark your cruise ship in Luxor where you will be met and transferred to the historical Old Winter Palace Hotel. Enjoy a leisure day in Luxor. In the afternoon, you will be met and transferred to attend the magnificent Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple. Overnight in Luxor.

Mena House Marriott Hotel

Day 17

After a relaxed morning, you will be met and transferred to Luxor Airport for your return flight to Cairo. Arrive in Cairo where you will be met by your Egypt Tours tour manager and taken to your overnight stay at The luxurious Marriott Mena House Hotel.

Sound and Light Show Giza

Day 18

Morning at leisure. In the evening, you will be by your Egypt Tours tour manager and taken to attend the magnificent Sound and Light Show at the Giza Plateau. Later travel back to your hotel for an overnight stay.
